The Beauty of the Dales

The Yorkshire Dales, is home to outstanding scenery, a rich cultural heritage and a breathtakingly peaceful atmosphere. At its heart are two very special protected areas the Yorkshire dales National Park  and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

If you enjoy the outdoors, then there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. The Yorkshire Dales is a superb place to spend time outside, with spectacular waterfalls and ancient broadleaved woodland contrasting with scattered remains of former mine workings and other rural industries - a reminder of the area's rich industrial heritage. 

On the 5th of July 2014 we saw the Tour de France pass through the Dales. Starting in Leeds and finishing with a sprint into Harrogate, this stage also took in the outstanding scenery and breathtakingly peaceful atmosphere of Yorkshire Dales.
